If you haven't been inside a little local bakery yet, prepare your taste buds! The good old fashion traditional bakeries can be found Australia over and although the pies and cakes may vary from town to town, there's no doubt you'll find good value and freshly baked goodies inside. We all know pie's are about as Aussie as The Man From Snowy River, but have you heard of Hegehog Slice, Cream Buns or the humble Lamington?

I've never been a big fan of Pancakes. Maybe it's because I like something a bit more substantial for beakfast like a big bowl of cereal or two eggs on toast; or maybe it's because my sweet taste buds love a sleep-in. But, late a night I get that deep yearning for something sweet, really sweet! If you're like me and need a late night sugar fix or you prefer your pancakes in the morning, Pancakes On The Rocks has what you need.

If you're freshly off the boat (or plane as it's most likey to be), you may be asking yourself, "what do these Aussie's eat to stay looking so good?" It's not easy defining "Australian Food" these days. Restaurants claiming they serve "Modern Australian" cuisine dish up anything from a lamb skewer with minted yoghurt to crispy tempura eggplant. How's Australian is that? But one things for certain, the Meat Pie is true blue Aussie!

No doubt you're intimately familiar with local watering hole Scruffy Murphy's, and have sampled their wares in the wee hours of the morning. However, you might not have known that they are also notrious for one of Sydney's cheapest eats.

An ancient Chinese proverb suggests that “Sweet Sour Bitter Pungent – All must be tasted”. Why not give the proverb a literal test at the Night Noodle Markets when they kick off this Monday 12 October.
