Sydney Lights Up
posted by Murray on 8 Feb 2010
Just when you thought all the big festivals in Sydney were over and it was time to knuckle down and get some study done, along comes Vivid Sydney. Vivid is light, sound and creativity; and the biggest festival of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere.

Vivid Sydney optimistically tempts visitors into the centre of Sydney at the onset of winter with its sweets of dazzling light shows and installations including nightly light projections onto the Sydney Opera House and MCA.

If lights aren’t enough to drag you away from your heater, maybe Legendary Music Producer Brian Eno will tempt you. Eno has been given the task of curator for Luminous the musical component of the Vivid festival. Highlights include Lee “Scratch” Perry and Ladytron in the Opera Theatre of the Sydney Opera House. Imagine, Lee “Scratch” Perry in the domain of screaming high pitched vocals!

Vivid includes free public installations as well as well priced performances from the Opera House to Parramatta. For full details check out www.vividsydney.com
