If you're a film buff get some sunlight today, 'cause from tomorrow you're going to want to be locked in a dark room for the next 2 weeks. The 57th Sydney Film Festival kicks off tomorrow bringing with it a caboose load of films longer than a Newcastle coal train. 157 films from 47 countries including 92 Australia, and 9 International Premieres! Grab the popcorn and take a seat.
The Sydney Film Festival has a distinct Australian flavour and is more than just a showcase of films. There's industry events, music at the Opera House and guest talks scattered throughout Sydney's filmscape. Tickets are available for single films or you can buy a flexipass for 10, 20 or 30 screenings and really get involved.
If you're a surfer or you've ever being on a sailing holiday keep your eyes out for the World Premiere of Caught Inside, a film by Australian Director Adam Blaiklock. Blaiklocks takes us on a Surfing Boat Trip through the Maldives where the sun and surf mix with suspense and sexual chicanery. Girls on a surfing boat trip? Sounds like a dangerous game!
