“No city in the world comes out to cheer on it’s gay pride event quite like Sydney”. It’s a celebration of diversity, freedom and expression and nobody does it with as much flamboyance as Sydney’s gay and lesbian community.
The Mardi Gras Parade attracts hundreds of thousands of spectators each year making for one giant street party. Although the pink spotlight is firmly on the Gay and Lesbian Community for the night, the spirit of the parade is about inclusion so don't be afraid to dress up and get loose. The party happens both on and off the road and it's easy to get swept away in the atmosphere.
If you want to catch a glimpse of the action and join the party on Saturday night be prepared and get into the city early. The Parade kicks off at 7:45 and runs down Oxford Street and into Flinders Street.
