Tried to book a hair appointment or beauty treatment this week? Forget-about-it! The Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras is in full swing and this Saturday is the big one. When the Mardi Gras Parade rolls down Oxford Street on Saturday night you’d better be prepared because this is the biggest show in town!
Prime Minister Mr Kevin Rudd has puffed his patriotic chest out (all shaven of course) dubbing it the “best gay event in the world”. The Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras extends well beyond Saturday's parade; there's shows, events and exhibitions happening in Sydney until 7 March. Still, the Parade is the jewel in the tiara of Mardi Gras so if you want to be part of Sydney's biggest party, get you’re outfit ready and get into Oxford Street early, even if your hair isn’t quite right.
