If you're a film buff get some sunlight today, 'cause from tomorrow you're going to want to be locked in a dark room for the next 2 weeks. The 57th Sydney Film Festival kicks off tomorrow bringing with it a caboose load of films longer than a Newcastle coal train. 157 films from 47 countries including 92 Australia, and 9 International Premieres! Grab the popcorn and take a seat.

Sailing Canvas

Been down to Circular Quay this week? If you have then you'd have noticed the iconic sails of the Sydney Opera House have been transformed into a canvas of light and art. As part of Vivid Sydney, the Opera House will be lit up from 5:30-10:30 each evening with colour and design by Vivid Live co-curator Laurie Anderson.

Darling Harbour Jazz & Blues

We all know students are into Free Stuff right? If you're into Free Stuff AND Music you're in going to be styling this weekend. The 20th annual Darling Harbour Jazz and Blues Festival kicks off tonight with a great line up of free music for all. The line-up includes Australian and International musicians playing over three days, five stages and various smaller venues.

Go Feed A Fish!

Life underwater is pretty peaceful; the water is clear and warm, the fish move at a leisurely pace around beautiful coral reefs and all the stress of books, exams and city traffic is a million miles away. After trying my hand at an introductory scuba dive, I decided life underwater was for me.

Earth Hour

Regardless of where you come from, the need to reduce our carbon footprint is universal. Earth Hour is this Saturday and Sydney will be switching the light's out at 8:30pm for 60mins. You should too! Not only is it great for the environment, it's turning into quite a spectacle. Imagine, 50,000 lights all turning off at once!!
